The Deanship includes the Diwan Department, Graduate Studies Department, Scientific Research Department, Publishing Department, and Technology Transfer Department.
The Graduate Studies Department organizes the process of accepting students and following up on their affairs in master’s, doctoral, and higher diploma programs, whether in regular or international programs. In addition, the department studies requests to develop new programs and amend study plans and submit them to the relevant councils, with the aim of ensuring the provision of distinguished study programs that keep pace with academic and scientific requirements and the needs of the local, regional and global labor market.
The Scientific Research Department is responsible for organizing scientific research affairs at the university, by providing the necessary support for research projects, providing incentives for scientific publishing, and offering awards for outstanding scientific research, in addition to organizing summer research visits. The department also includes the Ethics Council for Scientific Research on Humans, approved by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, and the Ethics Council for Scientific Research on Animals, in order to ensure that researchers adhere to the highest standards of ethics in their research.
The Publishing Department is concerned with issuing specialized Jordanian scientific journals issued by the Deanship and supported by the Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund. The department also supervises the peer-review process to ensure their quality before publication, and works to publish peer-reviewed books as part of the Deanship’s publications, which contributes to enhancing the academic reputation of the university and disseminating scientific knowledge on a large scale.
The Technology Transfer Department seeks to regulate intellectual property rights at the university and update legislation in line with global trends in this regard. It also directs researchers to convert their research into patents to preserve their intellectual rights, and looks for opportunities to rent and invest these patents. In addition, the department is studying opportunities to create startup companies based on scientific research outcomes, which enhances the university’s role in innovation and economic development.
